The new Honda HR-V - The ideal platform for optimal dynamics and high comfort

The HR-V is based on an updated version of the Global Small Platform from Honda. The higher proportion of high-strength steel improves the body rigidity. 980 steel with a high lambda content was used for the middle cross member in the floor and the inner central pillar, which further increases strength and reduces weight by 1.5 kilograms. An additional ring structure behind the C-pillars increases the directional stability of the individual wheels and improves driving quality and dynamics. The higher rigidity in connection with the friction-optimized suspension and the longer wheelbase not only ensure lower weight and high driving safety, but also impressive basic stability. Larger bumps in the road surface are easily absorbed, vibrations are suppressed and the engine's resonance behavior is reduced. Honda took a holistic approach to reducing noise and vibration. This also includes reducing sound pressure changes when starting the internal combustion engine from EV mode and suppressing engine noise at higher speeds. Low-frequency road noise caused by changes in the road surface has also been reduced. Honda has repeatedly tuned and tested all components that directly influence the driving experience, thereby significantly improving the handling and comfort properties of the HR-V. The dynamic character of the vehicle matches the responsive electrified drive and complements the modern design as well as the outstanding amount of space in the interior, which distinguishes the vehicle in the segment of compact B-SUV models
