Before the legendary ŠKODA 130 RS conquered the Czechoslovakian race tracks, the ŠKODA 180/200 RS coupés represented the car manufacturer from Mladá Boleslav in rally sport. To this day, ŠKODA designates the sporty variants of its models with the suffix "RS" (Rally Sport). On the ŠKODA storyboard, in addition to the complete selection of images for this press release, there is also a 32-page brochure and an extensive selection of articles and features on various topics from 120 years of ŠKODA motorsport. At the beginning of the 1970s, it was recognized in Mladá Boleslav that they would not be successful in the long term in the demanding rallies against international competition with engines of up to 1,300 cm3 displacement - such as in the ŠKODA 120 S Rally. Soon after, the decision was made to develop a rally car with a correspondingly large displacement.
