Tom Troupe, a veteran stage actor known for his roles in “Star Trek” and “Mission: Impossible,” has passed away at the age of 97. A family spokesperson announced that Troupe died of natural causes at his home in Beverly Hills, just five days after celebrating his birthday. Born in Kansas City, Missouri, Troupe made his breakthrough as an actor on Broadway, debuting in the original production of “The Diary of Anne Frank” in 1957. Troupe went on to appear in over 75 shows, notably portraying David Day in the original series “Mission: Impossible” in 1967 and Lieutenant Harold in “Star Trek” the same year. His other notable performances include an appearance in “Cheers” and roles in films such as “The Devil's Brigade,” “Summer School,” and “My Own Private Idaho.” As a stage actor, Troupe starred alongside his wife Carole Cook in productions like “The Lion in Winter,” “Father’s Day,” and “The Gin Game.” They were married from 1964 until Cook's passing in January 2023, just a few days before her 99th birthday. She died of heart failure.
