Doctor who first spotted Omicron: I was shocked with the positive test

She was one of the first doctors in South Africa to suspect a different coronavirus strain was making people sick. A moment of shock to her. Dr. Angelique Coetzee, a private practitioner and chair of South African Medical Association, spoke with CNN Greece’s Christos Gavalas and sais she’s overwhelmingly convinced Omicron symptoms are mild but also that ultimately it will all come down to how it’s going to affect elderly unvaccinated people.
