More than 800 additional sleeping places will be available for homeless people in Hamburg from November 1. The emergency shelters can be used between 5 p.m. and and 9:30 a.m. the next day, depending on the weather even longer, as the social authorities announced on Friday. Recently, there had been repeated criticism of the winter emergency program, because not all homeless people accept the offer. The party "Die Linke" demands that the shelters can also be used during the day. The city rejects this, among other things, for formal reasons.
