New solar park opened: solar energy on the rise

In December, Fürth's Solarberg celebrated its 20th anniversary, and now there is more good news for renewable energy in Fürth. A new solar park is being built, state-of-the-art technology for clean energy directly from Fürth. The ground-breaking ceremony has already taken place on a field near Burgfarrnbach. From April, around 1.6 million kilowatt hours of electricity are to be generated here every year, which is equivalent to the consumption of 450 households. The electricity will be supplied directly to residents in the surrounding area. This major project by a regional company is part of the city of Fürth's solar offensive. Further projects are already planned for 2024, such as the installation of solar systems on the town hall or on school roofs.
