The sports car manufacturer's exemplary junior program has been one of the most successful of its kind in motorsport for almost 26 years. It has paved the way for many participants to pursue a professional career as a works driver, producing numerous world champions and Le Mans winners in the process. The winner can look forward to a sponsorship package of up to 225,000 euros. The new Porsche Junior will be announced at the "Night of Champions" on December 17 at the Porsche Development Center in Weissach. The biggest common denominator of all the invited candidates is that they are no more than 24 years old and have finished in the top five of one of Porsche's more than 30 one-make cup series around the world in the current year with the 911 GT3 Cup. On a largely dry track, they had to demonstrate their skills on and off the 4.428-kilometer Grand Prix circuit: For the jury, in addition to the pure lap times and general performance on the track, the cooperation with the race engineers, the participants' understanding of technology, their interaction with the media and the result of mental and physical fitness tests are also important. In the coming days, the intensive analysis of the results and findings collected will serve as the basis for deciding who will be allowed to compete as a new Porsche Junior in 2023.
