The new ŠKODA KAROQ - Five modern engines from the current EVO generation

источник: AUTOMOTOTV (Glomex)

The drive range of the ŠKODA KAROQ includes five modern and efficient engines from the current EVO generation of the Volkswagen Group. The three TSI gasoline engines and two diesels cover a power range from 81 kW (110 hp) to 140 kW (190 hp), with the 2.0 TSI as the top engine with all-wheel drive and 7-speed DSG as standard exclusively reserved for the KAROQ SPORTLINE. For the more powerful of the two diesels, 4×4 drive with an electronically controlled multi-plate clutch and 7-speed DSG is available as an option. The entry-level engine for the KAROQ is the 1.0 TSI three-cylinder from the current EVO generation combined with a 6-speed manual transmission. With an output of 81 kW (110 hp), it is particularly economical thanks to its high efficiency. Low emissions are ensured by an injection pressure of up to 350 bar and an innovative, 150 micrometer (0.15 millimeter) thin plasma coating in the cylinder crankcase. It replaces the cast-iron cylinder liners. This reduces internal friction in the cylinders and more even distribution and dissipation of heat in the combustion chamber reduces thermal stress. The four-cylinder 1.5 TSI gasoline engine with 110 kW (150 hp) also features active cylinder management (ACT), which automatically deactivates two cylinders at low load, thus reducing consumption even further.
