Five stars at Euro NCAP for the brand-new Hyundai IONIQ 6

Even before the first vehicles are delivered, the independent testing organization Euro NCAP gives the Hyundai IONIQ 6 the top rating of 5 stars. The latest model of Hyundai's electric sub-brand IONIQ - like the IONIQ 5 - meets the highest safety standards. The Hyundai IONIQ 6 scored outstandingly in the "adult occupants," "children" and "safety assistants" categories. Like the IONIQ 5, the IONIQ 6 features the next level of Hyundai's Smart Sense advanced driver assistance systems. For example, Highway Assist 2.0 helps maintain a set distance and speed from the vehicle ahead on the highway and keeps the Hyundai IONIQ 6 in its lane, even on winding roads. If the vehicle gets too close to one side of the lane, the system brings the vehicle back into the correct lane by means of a steering correction. When the turn signal is set, Highway Assist 2.0 automatically initiates the lane change intended by the driver. The other functions range from autonomous emergency brake assist with pedestrian and cyclist detection as well as turn and intersection functions, to intelligent traffic sign recognition that adjusts the vehicle speed to the speed limit, active blind spot assist, attention assist, and exit assist, which warns rear-seat passengers by sounding the alarm if a rear-seat occupant wants to open his or her door even though a vehicle is approaching from behind.
