UN Secretary-General António Guterres has accused multinational corporations of turning the world's ecosystems into "pawns of profit" at the start of the UN Biodiversity Conference. "With our limitless appetite for uncontrolled and unequal economic growth, humanity has become a weapon of mass destruction," he said in Montréal, Canada.
