The new BMW 5 Series - Consistent electrification for exemplary efficiency

A drive architecture that has been designed from the outset to be open to technology and flexible makes it possible to offer the new BMW 5 Series Sedan for the first time fully electrically, with plug-in hybrid systems and with highly efficient gasoline and diesel engines. Across the entire model range, consistent electrification ensures exemplary efficiency in the competitive environment as well as brand-typical driving pleasure, which is enhanced in particular by the spontaneous power delivery of the electric motors used in all variants. Petrol and diesel engines from the new generation of BMW Group Efficient Dynamics engines are offered in a market-specific selection. They now all feature the latest version of 48-volt mild hybrid technology. The model range will be supplemented in spring 2024 by two variants of the new BMW 5 Series Sedan with the latest generation of plug-in hybrid drive systems. A new six-cylinder in-line diesel engine will also be available for the BMW 5 Series Sedan from 2024. A further variant of the BMW i5 with electric all-wheel drive will also follow in the course of 2024. All model variants will be produced on one assembly line at BMW Group Plant Dingolfing.
