Electrifying opening of the first Audi charging hub in Zurich

Since the beginning of November, Zurich has been the second destination worldwide to have its own Audi charging hub. At the heart of the concept are the so-called charging cubes - modular container cubes that, in addition to a fast-charging infrastructure, also contain used, reconditioned lithium-ion batteries, so-called second-life batteries, which come from dismantled development vehicles. The Audi charging hub thus does not require a complex and expensive infrastructure with a high-voltage grid and transformers. More than just a charging station, the hub brings a sustainable fast-charging infrastructure to places where the local power grid would not suffice. The four charging points at the entrance to the Messe Zürich parking garage provide up to 320 kW per charging point. An electrifying moment that was celebrated together with numerous guests, media representatives, Audi ambassadors and Audi experts. True to the motto: A small step for Audi, but a big one for the sustainable mobility of the future. For years, Audi has been proving that "Vorsprung durch Technik" not only stands for the highest level of engineering, state-of-the-art design and digital experiences, but also for new, holistic mobility solutions. The latest example is the Audi charging hub. Following the successful pilot phase of the first worldwide Audi charging hub in Nuremberg, Zurich has had the world's second Audi charging hub since the beginning of November 2022, in the vibrant part of Zurich Oerlikon, in the new banking district directly in front of the Messe Zürich parking garage.
