Clear the stage for the new Volvo EX90: With the all-electric SUV, which celebrates its world premiere today (Wednesday) in Stockholm, the Swedish premium automaker is entering a new era. Based on a new technology and vehicle architecture developed in-house, the seven-seater premium model sets new standards - and not just in terms of drive, software and safety. The Volvo EX90 marks the start of a comprehensive model offensive: every year, the Swedish premium automaker will introduce a new all-electric vehicle, with the goal of offering exclusively electric cars from 2030. This strategy, which is one of the most ambitious in the automotive industry, is intended to pave the way for the company to become climate-neutral by 2040. The production facilities in Ridgeville (USA) and Chengdu (China) will also be converted to climate-neutral operation before the Volvo EX90 rolls off the production line from next year, first in the USA and then also in China. Unveiled in downtown Stockholm, the premium SUV features a modern interpretation of Scandinavian design, where form follows function. Elegant proportions and shapes that combine safety, efficiency and aesthetics characterize this family car that is as versatile as it is stylish. Cutting-edge technology under its elegant dress enables decisive advances in electrification, connectivity, computing power, safety and infotainment.
