The latest one-off from the traditional brand, the Ferrari SP51, was unveiled today. It joins the most exclusive group of one-offs from Maranello: unique, absolutely bespoke Ferrari models made to the customer's specifications, representing the pinnacle of Ferrari's customization capabilities. The SP51, designed by the Ferrari Centro Stile under the direction of Flavio Manzoni, is a front-engined V12 Spider based on the Ferrari 812 GTS, from which it inherited its configuration, chassis and engine. At first glance, the most striking feature of this stunning vehicle is its open top, making this one-of-a-kind car a true roadster in every sense of the word. The sporty character takes center stage, and the SP51 excites both visually and in terms of the exhilaration of open-top driving. Of course, the SP51's aerodynamics have been meticulously refined in a process consisting of CFD simulations, wind tunnel and dynamic testing to ensure not only ultimate interior comfort, but also acoustic comfort just like its prototype. Thanks to its seamlessly muscular, undulating surfaces, the SP51's design looks wonderfully powerful and harmonious. Its forms are modern, sleek and sensual all at once, due in large part to the extensive use of carbon fiber on both the exterior and interior. Particularly striking is the trim that dynamically frames the two air vents on the hood.
