Top seed Rune into Stockholm semis after surviving Etcheverry scare
Top seed Holger Rune booked his place in the semi-finals of the ATP 250 Stockholm Open in Sweden on Friday, but had to dig very deep to overcome Argentina's Tomas Etcheverry.
Paris Saint-Germain defeated Aston Villa on Wednesday (9th) at Parc des Princes with a 3-1 score, taking the lead in the Champions League quarter-finals. Despite falling behind, the French turned the game around with three goals from Doué, Kvaratskhelia, and Nuno Mendes. Aston Villa opened the scoring in the 35th minute. After a mistake by PSG, McGinn intercepted and initiated a counter-attack, which ended with Morgan Rogers scoring freely to make it 1-0. PSG's response was swift. Just before halftime, Doué equalized with an unstoppable shot from a corner kick. At the start of the second half, Kvaratskhelia scored the equalizer for the hosts in the third minute with a beautiful individual effort. The third goal came in stoppage time when Nuno Mendes headed in a cross after a nice pass from Dembélé. With this result, PSG can achieve a draw or even a one-goal loss in the return leg in England next week. The French will be better rested as they have no games in Ligue 1, while Aston Villa plays in the Premier League on Saturday (12th).
