Fair play: Striker admits handball and is honored!

Great award for a remarkable gesture: The Bavarian Football Association (BFV) has honored Manuel Omelanowsky from SV Kirchanschöring in the Bayernliga Süd as the Bavarian "Fair is more" monthly winner for October 2023. In the home match against TSV 1860 München II (0:0, matchday 16), a running duel broke out between the SVK captain and a Young Lions defender in the 41st minute of the match after a long pass to the top. The ball bounced just in front of the two players, Omelanowsky stood his ground in the duel and curled the ball into the net for a supposed 1:0 lead. However, shortly after the goal, he admitted to the referee that he had touched the ball with his hand.
