The three immunologists Mary E. Brunkow and Fred Ramsdell from the USA and Shimon Sakaguchi from Japan are awarded the Nobel Prize in Medicine this year. The three scientists are honored for their discoveries on peripheral immune tolerance, the Nobel Committee in Stockholm announced.
