A bar in Idaho is offering free beer for a month to individuals who help the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) identify and deport undocumented migrants in the state. The 'Old State Saloon' in Eagle announced the offer on X, stating that one could qualify by submitting evidence such as photos or videos to assist ICE in locating individuals without legal status. The bar mentioned that any customer who does this should 'send a detailed email with all evidence, photos, videos, a summary of events, dates, and times' to the bar's email address. Additionally, the bar stated that they 'could pour several months of free beer to one person if multiple undocumented individuals are deported.' The bar's post quickly received approval from the Department of Homeland Security, which spread the announcement through a repost along with a reaction GIF. The offer comes amid a nationwide deployment of hundreds of ICE agents by President Donald Trump's government in Democrat-controlled cities to specifically target immigrants without valid papers. The Trump administration claims that its strict deportation campaign is on track to reach a record this year: more than 515,000 people have been deported since Trump returned to office. Despite the bar's negative attitude towards migrants, the labor force of immigrants remains indispensable for Idaho's economy, especially in the agricultural sector. According to a report from the University of Idaho, an estimated 35,000 undocumented immigrants strengthen agriculture, hospitality, and construction in the state, contributing tens of millions to Idaho's economy.
