US Mint presses final pennies as one-cent coin gets canceled

The US Mint in Philadelphia has produced the last penny for circulation after more than 230 years. President Trump had previously ordered its discontinuation. The production cost of a one-cent coin was almost four times its face value. The production halt is expected to save approximately $56 million annually.
