During a nighttime Russian drone and missile attack in the Kyiv area, according to Ukrainian authorities, at least eight people were killed and several injured. The attack, which involved 352 drones and 16 missiles, sparked fires in residential areas and damaged the entrance of a metro station serving as an air-raid shelter, officials said. Six of the ten city districts were damaged in the attack, including several residential buildings, as Ukrainian Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko reported on Telegram. Tymur Tkachenko, head of the Kyiv Military Administration, said at least six people were killed in the Kyiv district of Shevchenkivskyi and four children were injured in the attack. "The Russians' style remains unchanged - they strike where people could be. Residential buildings, exits of shelters - that's the Russian style," Tkatschenko said. This development comes as Russia intensifies its summer offensive, sending large waves of rockets and drones into Ukraine. Amid ongoing tensions, Ukrainian Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi vowed to increase Ukraine's attacks on Russia. This comes shortly after Russia's deadliest attack on Kyiv last week, which killed 28 people and injured over 150. Diplomatic efforts between the two countries have abruptly stalled after the last direct talks between both sides ended earlier this month.
