After Solingen: Government announces comprehensive knife ban

After the attack in Solingen, the federal government announced a knife ban at public events such as festivals, sports events, and similar public gatherings. In addition, a "general knife ban" will apply in long-distance train travel and other providers, said Federal Interior Minister Nancy Faeser (SPD) in Berlin. Furthermore, the government will introduce a "general ban on switchblade knives".

Plane makes emergency landing after bird strike ignites engine in Colombia

An Avianca Airbus A320 was forced to make an emergency landing in Colombia after a bird strike caused one of its engines to catch fire shortly after takeoff.
