Ukraine: Scholz justifies permission for deployment of German weapons in Russia

Bundeskanzler Olaf Scholz (SPD) defended his permission for the deployment of German weapons on Russian territory in the Ukraine war. "Ukraine has the internationally recognized right to defend itself against attacks on its territory, its cities, and its citizens," Scholz said in a government statement in the Bundestag. "This also applies to attacks like those in the Kharkiv area, which Russia carries out from positions in the directly adjacent Russian border region."
