Without sufficient caution, one could irreversibly lose control over autonomous AI systems, researchers write in a text in the latest issue of the journal "Science". Potential AI risks include large-scale cyberattacks, societal manipulation, ubiquitous surveillance, and even the "extinction of humanity", they further state.
