Esprit files for insolvency

The fashion group Esprit has run into financial difficulties. The company has filed for insolvency in self-administration for its parent company, Esprit Europe GmbH, as well as for six other German subsidiaries. Esprit announced this in a statement, according to the German Press Agency. The business operations are to be continued until further notice. The approximately 1,500 affected employees in Germany have been informed.
