In Amberg (Upper Palatinate/Bavaria), two unexploded bombs from World War II were found during construction work on Wednesday, April 3. The disposal of the two bombs was not easy because rain flooded the excavation pit. 500 residents around the site had to leave their homes and spend the night in emergency shelters. On early Thursday evening, the demolition team from Nuremberg defused both bombs.
