Thanks to its super subs, SC Freiburg has kept alive the chance for its first Champions League participation and put tremendous pressure on the competition. The recently substituted Christian Günter and Nils Petersen scored the Breisgau team to a 2-0 victory against VfL Wolfsburg at the start of the penultimate Bundesliga matchday. With the win, SC equalized in points with fourth-placed Union Berlin and is one point behind RB Leipzig in third place.
