The CSU has decided at its party conference in Nuremberg: Markus Söder will be the top candidate for the state election in Bavaria. In his speech, Söder criticized the federal government and announced lawsuits against the state fiscal equalization, the new electoral law and regulations on inheritance tax. He also announced that Bavaria is establishing a state-owned construction company for wind power expansion. The CSU also plans to adopt a new basic program. The party conference ended with the unanimous nomination of Markus Söder as the top candidate for the state election, with no abstentions and no formal count. The CSU wants to continue in coalition with the Free Voters and rules out black-green coalitions. The state election takes place on October 8
