On Monday, EU energy ministers agreed on a gas price cap after months of negotiations. Effective from February 15, 2023, the wholesale price is not to exceed 180 euros per megawatt hour. The vote required a "qualified majority" - only 55 percent of member countries had to vote in favor of the proposal.
