Have you ever wondered if it's just an impression when you come out of the shower after a day at the beach and you're even browner than when you entered the shower? In fact, it is true: after showering, you do feel browner. Or rather, the tan appears more intense. And there is a scientific explanation for it. The tan looks more intense because showering removes dead cells, sunscreen residues, and sand, making the skin look cleaner and more even. Dead cells in the superficial layers of the epidermis can actually reduce the visibility of the tan. The same goes for residues of sunscreen or other impurities that accumulate on the skin, making it dull and altering the perception of the complexion. Moreover, restoring skin moisture helps make the skin glow. Especially warm water helps to rehydrate the skin, making it smoother and shinier: an effect that enhances the tan. Finally, it is worth considering that melanin production continues even after sun exposure and can last up to 48-72 hours. That's why the tan becomes firmer and more noticeable over time - similar to looking in the mirror after a shower at the end of the day.
For centuries, Afghanistan's rugged northern steppes have been the backdrop for the enduring national equestrian tradition known as buzkashi. This game, deeply ingrained in Afghan culture, has transformed over time from a rustic pastime into a highly lucrative and professionalized spectacle, reflecting both the essence of Afghan identity and the realities of modern economics.
It's my turn! There were hilarious scenes as a pride of kenyan lions hustled to use a tree as a play park. Cubs and sub adults jostled to claw their way up the trunk and one large female had a precarious time negotiating the upper branches. The charming incident was captured Jan 2021 by Paul Goldstein, a British Wildlife Photographer and guide.
