Volunteers help primary school students with reading difficulties

The reading competence of primary school students is getting worse. A quarter of children have problems with reading - this is evident from the latest IGLU study. It is a downward trend that has been emerging for years. A club from Hamburg has taken it upon itself to change this and has launched the reading mentors. In individual lessons, the nearly 1000 volunteers try to make children enjoy books, the German language, and reading again.
