More weddings in 2022: 65,000 couples tied the knot

In Bavaria, the number of weddings increased by around 9 percent last year, almost reaching pre-COVID levels. In the Free State, approximately 65,000 couples said 'I do' last year, with around 2 percent being same-sex couples. The most popular wedding date last year was 22.02.2022 - a rare calendar palindrome that reads the same forwards and backwards. This unique date sequence won't occur again until 2030.
