Leading the tour, Capucine Delannoy (FRA) only needed to reach the semifinals to secure the title. Capucine Delannoy accomplished that task by winning her decisive quarterfinal against number two ranked Frances Kelly (CAN). For Delannoy, it's her second world title in six months after winning the GKA Big Air World Championship in June. With the World Championship in the bag, however, Capucine Delannoy could not fight the fate of an all-Brazilian final after so many great performances from local riders in recent weeks. In the semifinals, Capucine Delannoy had to admit defeat to the relentless wave attack of Kesiane Rodriguez (BRA) and settle for third place in the event after defeating Camille Losserand (SUI) in the mini-final.
