Many people feel tired and listless in the afternoon, especially after a heavy lunch. Here are four ways you can boost your energy levels when you're in an afternoon slump. Exposing your body to sunlight will make you feel much more alert. Open the blinds or go for a walk outside. Instead of fighting fatigue, take a 20- to 30-minute nap. Make sure you drink plenty of water, as even a slight lack of fluids can impair cognitive performance. Plan activities for the afternoon that you enjoy and that motivate you. This could include listening to music, exercising or meditating.
