Almost four years ago, Jörn Buhmann from Kühren took over his parents' pig fattening operation. It is important to him that his 250 pigs are well cared for. Nevertheless, his stable only meets the requirements of husbandry level 2. The demand for more species-appropriate husbandry - level 3 - is becoming louder from the food retail sector and politics. Easier said than done for the farmer: Especially after Corona, the industry is recovering only slowly.
