Seal counts started off the Lower Saxony coast

Seals were threatened with extinction until the 1970s, so they have been under strict protection since then. To monitor the population of mammals and possibly take measures to preserve the animals, seal counts are carried out annually. The first ones off the Lower Saxony coast have now begun.
