The program opens with the 45 TDI quattro, a 3-liter diesel engine that delivers 170 kW (231 hp) of power and a generous torque of 500 Newton-meters. The plateau is available from 1,500 to 3,000 revolutions. From a standstill, the Audi Q7 45 TDI reaches the 100 km/h mark in 7.1 seconds. The top speed is 226 km/h. This engine is followed by the 50 TDI quattro. The more powerful version delivers 210 kW (286 hp) and 600 Newton-meters of torque. This allows the large SUV to accelerate from zero to 100 km/h in 6.1 seconds and reach a top speed of 241 km/h. In the Audi Q7 55 TFSI, a 6-cylinder gasoline engine with three liters of displacement and direct injection produces 250 kW (340 hp). In the wide speed range of 1,370 to 4,500 revolutions, it develops a maximum torque of 500 Newton-meters. The turbocharged gasoline engine accelerates the Audi Q7 from zero to 100 km/h in 5.6 seconds. It reaches its top speed at an electronically limited 250 km/h. All V6 engines in the Audi Q7 have a towing capacity of up to 3.5 tons. This allows for confident towing of residential caravans as well as horse trailers, for example. The engines work with an 8-speed tiptronic, the permanent all-wheel drive quattro, and the mild-hybrid system, which can reduce fuel consumption in customer operation by up to 0.5 liters per 100 kilometers. Its key components are a lithium-ion battery and a belt-driven starter generator (RSG) that supplies power to the SUV's 48-volt main electrical system. Between 55 and 160 km/h, the Q7 can coast with the engine off for up to 40 seconds when drivers release the accelerator.

A number of new technologies optimize the precision and control of the chassis in a wide variety of weather and road conditions. The standard electronic damper control (Electronic Control Suspension, ECS) in the GT-line version increases comfort and safety thanks to the continuous damping control. The system reacts to body movements and steering inputs and changes the damping behavior at lightning speed in order to counteract the vehicle's diving, pitching and rolling movements when cornering. It also adjusts the damping force in the case of obstacles in order to cope with them as comfortably as possible and to reduce the influence of post-vibrations on the wheels. A premiere for the Sportage is the “All-Terrain-Mode”, which will be available for the plug-in hybrid version with all-wheel drive. The system offers intelligent support when driving off-road or on snow by automatically optimizing the vehicle settings depending on the selected mode and thus helping the SUV to achieve maximum traction on muddy, sandy or snowy surfaces.
