Collision at accident-prone intersection

On Friday afternoon, the 23.12.22 around 14:45h occurred on the B 470 between Weiden and Pressath a traffic accident. At the accident-prone exit near Schwarzenbach, a female Toyota driver wanted to turn left onto the main road in the direction of Weiden. In doing so, she overlooked a BMW X4 coming from the same direction, whose driver was unable to swerve. The Toyota was hit on the driver's side and flung into the opposite exit. When the fire department arrived, the vehicle had to be secured against sliding off. The driver and a child still in the Toyota, as well as the BMW driver, were taken to a hospital by the emergency medical services. The damage to both vehicles was estimated at at least 50,000 euros. They had to be towed away. There was a large tailback on the B470 in the evening rush hour traffic coming from the direction of Weiden. The Schwarzenbach fire department was on the scene with 15 forces to secure the accident site and clean the road. In addition to several ambulances, the rescue helicopter and the Pressath ambulance were also on site. After more than one and a half hours, the traffic could be released.
