The new Audi Q8 e-tron - Further improved aerodynamics

Fuente: AUTOMOTOTV (Glomex)

Air resistance, especially at higher speeds, is one of the biggest driving resistances that cars have to overcome. In electric vehicles, this effect is felt particularly strongly and impacts consumption and range. For the Audi Q8 e-tron, the focus was therefore on aerodynamics. The result is a reduction in the drag coefficient cw from 0.26 to 0.24 for the Q8 Sportback e-tron and from 0.28 to 0.27 for the Q8 e-tron. The wheels have a significant influence on the vehicle's drag. Wheel spoilers mounted on the underbody help deflect the airstream past the wheels. The spoilers have been enlarged on the front axle, and spoilers are now also used in front of the rear wheels on the Audi Q8 Sportback e-tron. In the SQ8 Sportback e-tron spoilers are only installed on the rear axle. In the area of the radiator grille, a self-sealing system complements the electric louvers that automatically close the radiator for the first time in an Audi vehicle model. This system further optimizes the airflow at the front of the car and prevents unwanted losses.
