The new BMW X7 - Retuned electromechanical power steering, optional Integral Active Steeringg

The tuning of the electromechanical power steering has also been updated for the new edition of the BMW X7. Its range of functions includes the speed-dependent Servotronic steering power assistance system. Using the various driving experience modes, two characteristic curves can also be activated for the steering for emphatically sporty or comfort-oriented driving. Integral Active Steering, which comes as standard in the new BMW X7 M60i xDrive and is available as an option for the other model variants, increases comfort when maneuvering, enhances agility at medium speeds and optimizes sovereignty at higher speeds and especially when changing lanes. The steering of the rear wheels is speed-dependent. Depending on the driving speed, the rear wheels are steered either against the steering angle of the front wheels or in the same direction. In particularly demanding driving situations, stabilizing steering interventions on the rear wheels can help keep the BMW X7 safely on course. Countersteering of the rear wheels at low speeds can be used for comfortable maneuvering almost to a standstill of the vehicle and ensures a noticeable reduction in the turning circle.
