Rockfall - Brienz threatened to be buried by rock

The mountain village of Brienz/Brinzauls is evacuated. Already since Tuesday large evacuation measures are running in the village. Reason is an acute rockfall danger in the entire place. The Swiss alpine village has been sliding for years. The entire village is on the move. Up to one meter per year the village slides into the valley. Now, however, huge masses of rock threaten to bury the village completely. Up to two million cubic meters of rock material are said to be in motion It is expected that the rocks will crash or slide in the next 7 to 24 days.
