Waymo taking driverless robotaxi rides onto US freeways

For the first time, Waymo is offering driverless robotaxi rides on freeways in select US cities in California and Arizona. Announced on Wednesday, freeway access will be gradually rolled out in San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Phoenix. The self-driving car company now believes its technology is safe to use at faster speeds, and will continue testing in other major cities.
