The new Porsche Macan - New Premium Platform Electric with 800-Volt Architecture

The electric motors draw their energy from a lithium-ion battery in the underbody, of which up to 95 kWh are actively used from its 100 kWh gross capacity. The HV battery is a central component of the newly developed Premium Platform Electric (PPE) with 800-volt architecture, on which the new Macan is based as Porsche's first model. The DC charging power is up to 270 kW. The battery's charge level can be raised from ten to 80 percent at a suitable fast charging station in about 21 minutes. At 400-volt charging stations, the so-called bench charging divides the 800-volt battery into two batteries with 400 volts nominal voltage by a high-voltage switch in the battery. This enables particularly efficient charging without an additional HV booster with a power of up to 135 kW. AC charging with up to 11 kW is possible at household wall boxes.
