Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong marked July 4th with a 'F**k Donald Trump' chant during his performance at Rock Werchter in Belgium. During the song 'Holiday,' Armstrong started an anti-Trump chant, continuing his long-standing practice of political criticism during performances. He also altered the lyrics of 'American Idiot,' declaring during the band's iconic protest anthem, 'I'm not part of the MAGA agenda.' Originally aimed at the government of George Bush, 'American Idiot' has become a tool to criticize the 'MAGA agenda' rather than the 'Redneck agenda.' During the set, Armstrong briefly played a gentle, melodic version of the US national anthem before transitioning to 'Wake Me Up When September Ends.' Armstrong recently criticized President Trump at the Download Festival in the UK, labeling his administration a 'fascist government' and telling fans, 'It's up to us to fight back.' He also urged the crowd to chant 'fat b*****d,' referring to Trump, just a day before the president's military parade in Washington, DC.
