Michael Douglas has revealed that he has no plans to return to acting. He told reporters: "I had to stop" after nearly 60 years in the industry. At the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival, Douglas said he had not worked "intentionally" in recent years and was "very happy with the break". "I have worked very hard for almost 60 years and did not want to be one of those who collapse dead on set. I am not retired because if something special came up, I would return. But otherwise, I am very happy," said Michael Douglas. Douglas has not been on the big screen since the 2023 film "Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania" and is also not on the cast list for the upcoming film "Avengers: Doomsday". His recent works include portraying Benjamin Franklin in the Apple TV+ series "Franklin" and filming "Looking Through Water" with his son Cameron Douglas. When asked about past health challenges, Douglas joked: "Cancer in the fourth stage is not a vacation," but said he was "lucky" that he could continue working afterwards. Douglas received the Karlovy Vary Award at the festival, where the film "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest," produced by him, was shown for its 50th anniversary.
