An Embraer ERJ-145LR carrying Congolese mining minister Louis Watum Kabamba and 20 other officials crashed while attempting to land at Kolwezi Airport in the Democratic Republic of Congo on November 17. The minister is in Kolwezi to inspect the site of a bridge collapse that killed 32 people on November 15.

In Hessisch Oldendorf, Germany, a collector has brought what is believed to be the world's oldest Volkswagen Beetle back onto the road. The vehicle, built in 1937 as a Volkswagen W30 prototype by the Porsche engineering office with support from Mercedes, underwent an eight-year restoration involving many helpers.
