Criticism of Abuse Study by UAK Augsburg

In October 2025, a comprehensive study on the processing of abuse cases in the Diocese of Augsburg was presented. The Independent Processing Commission Augsburg uncovered serious abuses in the 1950s to 1990s, but also faced criticism. Professor Martina Steber from the University of Augsburg criticized the lack of data and the inadequate involvement of those affected. The commission defends its work.
