Johanna Meierhöfer is the best woman at the chainsaw

Determined, Johanna Meierhöfer folds down the visor on her hard hat. She takes the chainsaw in her hand and pulls hard on the starting rope. The engine stutters briefly. Then she's ready to go: Sawing spruce trunks is on the agenda. Just like a few weeks ago at the forestry competition for prospective farmers from the districts of Tirschenreuth, Neustadt/WN and Weiden. 39 participants took part, including six women. The 19-year-old from Wetzldorf near Erbendorf was the only woman to make it into the top ten.
