Source: WORLD OF FREESPORTS (Glomex)

The opening battles of the last wave stop in Morocco brought surprises while the leaders had to fight for their survival. The title contender and winner of Cape Verde, Wesley Brito (CPV), went straight into the third round with a strong performance. Julien Bouyer retired early in the second round. Wildcard James Jenkins (USA) provided one of the biggest surprises of the day when his strong surfing was rewarded by the judges and he eliminated second-placed Benoît Carpentier. One of the biggest heats of the day was contested by World Champion Malo Guénolé (FRA). The winner of the last round at Rio de Janeiro's Saquarema received the highest score of the day with 8.40 points out of 10 for a wave, giving him 16.37 points in his heat. Big wave surfer Clement Roseyro (FRA), Chucho Nonnot (NED) and GWA Big Air World Champion Julien Rattotti (FRA) had another close battle. Roseyro narrowly prevailed, but Nonnot and Rattotti were barely more than a point behind.
