The herniated disc simply explained

Dr. Marcus Ober explains in the video the herniated disc and what you can do about it. If the gelatinous core of an intervertebral disc penetrates the fibrous ring, this is called a herniated disc. One reason for this is the aging process, since the water content and thus the elasticity of an intervertebral disc decreases over the years. This leads to small cracks in the fibrous ring, which can bulge or even break through. However, age is not the only cause for a herniated disc. Incorrect back strain, overweight, lack of exercise or heavy lifting can also be responsible.
