Traffic accident on the A96 near Sigmarszell - adults and babies have to go to the hospital

On Sunday afternoon at around 1:00 p.m. there was a traffic accident on the A96 near Sigmarszell. According to the police, three high-quality cars were involved in the accident. Two adults and an infant were taken to the hospital. Overtaking maneuvers and lane changes The accident happened after a Mercedes initiated an overtaking maneuver. An Austrian BMW driver therefore changed lanes. A BMW coming from behind at high speed could no longer prevent a collision. Despite emergency braking, he crashed into the Austrian's car. The force threw the car into the guardrail and then back into the lane. There it crashed against the Mercedes. Property damage, ambulance and closure The accident resulted in property damage of around 150,000 euros. All three cars were no longer drivable and had to be towed away. The rescue service had to treat five people at the scene of the accident. Two adults and an infant were taken to the hospital by ambulance. Two ambulances, an emergency doctor and the Lindau and Weißensberg fire brigades were on duty. The motorway was closed for around one and a half hours for the accident recording in the direction of Munich
